It is not what anyone else thinks the firearm that is best for you is the one that fits you best and you shoot best.  There is no perfect choice. That is why many of us end up with multiple firearms and part of the shooting hobby.

Don’t let anyone, friend, colleague, or sales person tell you what firearm is right for you. Use the information you have, feel and try different guns if possible.

Some firing ranges allow you to rent a series of firearms and try them at their facility.  Get a few boxes of ammo in the caliber you like and try them out.  Do a head to head compare with a Glock/Sig/Smith and Wesson/Springfield/H & K and see what you like. Give a call to local ranges in your area and ask if you can rent firearms and shoot there.
